Cuci The Musical 2 - My Thoughts

Personally I don't really watch Malaysian movie in the cinema. I will watch it if they are aired on the national or cable tv, itu pun kalau takde citer lain yang menarik. When Cuci the Movie was playing there was a really good hype on it but it didn't trigger me at all to watch it but when Cuci The Musical (CTM) was staged the first time in IB last year, it has a very very good review which I felt that I need to see it for myself but of course at that time all tix have been sold out so ok..probably they will do another one in the future.

So about 3 weeks ago, when a a group of friends planned to go & watch CTM2 starting yesterday, I'm one of the first people who said yes!. Then I did the booking for 8.30pm show and look forward for it everyday until yesterday. The talk of the day yesterday since morning was hans hans hans hans and hans....( sounded like a bunch of lunatic mothers).

To save ourselves from being stranded in the traffic jam, we reached there before Maghrib and after some light tea, performed our Maghrib prayer there and sat in the Hall  by 8.15pm. I guessed since it was the opening night show, a lot of VIP and rich people turned up because we can see a lot of veteran people watched the show....you know mak datins with their kebaya nyonya with big hair, pakcik2 looks liked Andre Goh era, ...then I later realized that one of the cast is a prominent figure in NSTP (the one playing Tan Sri and Vanida's father)..for whom that have been following the TV3/RHB Spell It Right competition, he's the one who always pronouce the words for the contestants last year. OK...then there was Ku Li sitting at the best VIP seat la. So enough about the people.

I didn't see the first CTM so can't make comparison but well...I'm not there to make review right, just enjoying myself with the girls (our ladies night out). The main characters are Fairil(Afdlin), Khai(Hans), Jojo(Awie) and C'Tan(Nabil). Other casts are Vanida(CJ) ,Harith(Wira) and Jac(Jessy). It was produced by Harith & Datuk Zahim. In terms of acting Afdlin, Hans & Nabil are just being themselves which is terrific but Awie is beyond my expectation because he is totally different person, not the same stereotype macho man as what we see in ...what was the movie name he and erra starred..can not remember la...but basically he is totally and utterly (pinjam Simon Cowell nyer words)funny man! Never seen him like that before and when he sang..OMG...power house man! Vanida Inmran also has a sweet voice, Afdlin & Nabil also quite ok...Hans well..can improve more but what captured our ears besides Awie in singing was Rehman Rashid (the Tan Sri)...when he sings it was like Uji Rashid/SharifaAini/Broery Marantika movies...so moving.

The duration of the show was about 3.5 hours (8.30-12.15) with 15 min break at 10.15. The first part of the show, we just can't stop laughing...just imagine a good 2 hours of laugh...until our jaw cramped and lose 2 inches of our tummy. The jokes are all memorable jokes because I still can remember every bit of it till now. The second part of the show there are also attract a lot of crack of laugh but there was Nabil who turned serious and we felt it...he really can act funny and serious..he's a good young actor.  There are also some improvised and spontaneous moments from all of the 4 main casts and they are good at it especially Afdlin and Nabil.

Well, it was worth it and tempting to have another audience with them again..thinking....
